9:00 – 11:45 Morning Workshops - Pam Scholefield
Subcontract Terms and Management. In these workshops
you will learn:
• How to analyze and negotiate key subcontract terms;
• The use of techniques such as flowcharting to never
miss a deadline for submitting claims for extra costs or
time for performance; and
• How to use best practices for subcontract management.

12:15 – 1:00 Lunchtime Keynote – Oliver Craig with Cavignac
This keynote address will cover important
considerations for subcontractors when evaluating
bonded work, including:
• Qualifying for surety and increasing project teams’
knowledge of additional considerations for bonded
projects.
• Overview of different instruments used in bonding and
their implications.
• Enhanced take-off strategies and project “Go / No-Go”
selection process.
• Claims remedies and surety case studies to help
evaluate and avoid potential claims
1:15 – 2:00 Personal Growth Workshop - Brittany Russell
Building Stronger Connections and Negotiation Skills in
the Construction Industry
• This workshop will help you develop essential
communication skills through self-awareness practices
to identify the needs and values of your counterparts
during negotiations, ultimately fostering stronger
connections and creating a more harmonious work
environment.
2:15 – 5:00 Afternoon Workshops - Pam Scholefield
Applying Subcontract Terms and Following Claims
Procedures. The workshops offer you the opportunity to:
• Dive into the claims process and put your new-found
skills to the test with the “Project-Gone-Wrong”
hypothetical case study.
• Focus on applying the subcontract terms to the facts
and documenting and preparing change order requests
and claims.
• Team up to engage in an energetic mock negotiation of
the claims. Are you up for the challenge?
